Man bites Good Samaritan in face in Newcastle

A man has been bitten in the face by another man after he tried to stop an argument in Newcastle.

It happened at 0315 BST on Tuesday outside the Happy Chippy on Waterloo Street when the victim saw a man and a woman arguing.

He was then approached by the man who bit him on the cheek and eyebrow. The victim was treated in hospital.

The offender is described as being Asian, in his early 20s and about 5ft 10in (1.8m) tall.

He is of slim to medium build and was wearing blue jeans and a shirt at the time of the attack.
