Hundreds of jobs have been safeguarded on Teesside thanks to a multi-million pound wind farm project.

Dong Energy has signed a contract with Bladt Industries to build dozens of transition pieces for its Hornsea Project One offshore wind farm.

The firm said the project would safeguard about 200 jobs at its Haverton Hill facility near Billingham for about a year.

The farm will generate more than 1GW of power for one million homes.
