Middlesbrough drugs raid results in 18 arrests
One of the "biggest drugs raids in recent years" in Middlesbrough resulted in 18 arrests, police have said.
Heroin with a street value of more than £3,000 was recovered when Cleveland Police raided homes and businesses in the Newport and Gresham area.
About 150 officers worked on Operation Linen, which targeted drug crimes "making life a misery" for local residents, Ch Supt John Lyons said.
Among those arrested were 14 men, three women and a 16-year-old boy.
Most of the arrests were on suspicion possessing or supplying a class A drug.
