Watchdog probe after Cleveland Police dog bites man

The police watchdog has said it has begun an investigation after a man was bitten by a Cleveland Police dog.

A constable was exercising two police dogs in a field near Ormesy Stables in Eston on 6 June when one, a German Shepherd, bit a 28-year-old man.

He was treated in hospital for puncture wounds, as was the PC who was also injured.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission confirmed it was looking into what happened.
