Man charged after two women 'robbed at gunpoint' in Norton

A man has been charged after two women were allegedly robbed at gunpoint on a residential street on Teesside.

The women, aged 19 and 21, were threatened as they walked along Greylands Avenue in the Norton area of Stockton on Saturday evening, police said.

No-one was injured and the weapon was not discharged, a spokesman added.

The 39-year-old is charged with robbery, possession of a firearm, theft and a drugs offence.

He is due in court later.
