Darlington death crash driver Andrew Conden due to become dad

A driver who died in a collision on the A66 had been due to become a father for the first time.

Tributes have been paid to Andrew Conden, 32, from Darlington who died in a crash near Long Newton on 3 March.

His parents, Elaine and Gary, said he was enjoying the "happiest time in his life" and was looking forward to becoming a father with his partner Jodie.

They also thanked those who tried to save him after the crash.

In a statement released through Cleveland Police, Mr Conden's parents said their family is devastated.

They said: "Andrew was a genuinely nice man.

"He was a happy and fun person and he will be missed forever.

"We would also like to thank all of the emergency services and the people that tried to help Andrew at the scene.

"Our thoughts are also with everyone involved in the accident."
