Man, 19, sexually assaulted by men in Darlington woods

A 19-year-old man making his way to college through woods in Darlington was dragged to the ground by two men and sexually assaulted, police have said.

The victim had just gone under a railway bridge in Geneva Woods when he was targeted at 08:10 BST on Friday.

The attackers - believed to be aged in their 30s - then ran off, leaving their victim shaken but unhurt.

Durham Police said the area is popular with dog walkers and asked for anyone with information to get in touch.

A force spokesman said: "We are also keen to speak to any motorists who might have been driving along Parkside at that time of day in case they have information which could help."
