Teesside pair recognised in New Year Honours

A special constable and a member of the Royal British Legion are among those on Teesside recognised in the New Year Honours.

Alma Murray has become a Member of the British Empire for her work with service personnel and veterans.

The 78-year-old, from Billingham, supervises Veterans' Parades and Remembrance Services every year.

David Robinson, an acting sergeant in Cleveland force's special constabulary, received a British Empire Medal.

The 29-year-old, from Stockton, is also secretary of Headway Teesside, a local charity which seeks to support brain injury survivors and their families.
