Darlington house fire victim named as Louise Hardisty

The name of a woman who died in a house fire in Darlington has been released.

Louise Hardisty was rescued from the living room of the property in Brunton Street on Saturday, after fire broke out in the kitchen.

Emergency services attempted resuscitation, but the 32-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fire was later found to be non-suspicious, and police and the fire service urged householders to check their smoke alarms regularly.
