Wynyard woodland skull identified as missing man

A skull which was found in woodland on Teesside has been identified as that of a missing man, police said.

The remains were found near Wynyard village on Wednesday prompting DNA tests and fingertip searches of the area.

Cleveland Police said the discovery was linked to the disappearance of a 31-year-old man which was investigated by the Durham force.

His death was "not deemed to be suspicious", a spokeswoman said.
