Men rescued after dingy capsizes off Seaton Carew

Five men were rescued after the dingy they were in capsized in the sea off Teesside.

The group were travelling to a platform off Seaton Carew, near Hartlepool, early on Tuesday, where they were extending an existing sewerage pipe.

One managed to swim to the platform and was winched to safety by helicopter. The rest were rescued by lifeboat.

They were treated for broken bones and hypothermia. The dingy was recovered and is being examined.
