Ex-Cleveland Police officer Wayne Scott denies rape

A former Cleveland Police officer accused of a series of sexual offences against a woman has insisted he never "forced himself" on his alleged victim.

Wayne Scott, 37, told a court he had never physically confronted a woman the jury was told had "screamed and cried" as he raped her in 2006.

Scott denies rape, attempted rape and sexual assault.

His trial is expected to finish on Friday at Newcastle Crown Court.

Jurors were previously told that Scott, formerly of Stockton, had admitted raping a different woman on seven occasions.
