Cyclist killed in collision with lorry on Teesside

A cyclist has died in a collision with a lorry on Teesside.

The crash happened at 07:10 GMT on Monday on the A19 southbound after the A689 Hartlepool turnoff, about half a mile before the A1027 junction.

A 53-year-old lorry driver was later arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.

The cyclist has not been named. The A19 southbound is currently closed but anyone with any information is asked to contact Cleveland Police.
