Saltburn astronaut Nicholas Patrick gets degree

Saltburn-born astronaut Dr Nicholas Patrick is to receive an honorary degree from Teesside University.

He became the fourth Briton to have flown in space following his Nasa selection in 1998 and has since been on two space shuttle missions, spending over 600 hours in space.

Dr Patrick will receive his Doctor of Science (DSc) at the university in recognition of his achievements.

He will be honoured during a ceremony on Thursday.
