Middlesbrough parking charges cut to boost trade

Some parking charges in a Teesside town have been cut in a bid to boost trade in the run up to Christmas.

From Monday it will cost £1 for a stay of up to two hours in Middlesbrough's Zetland and Station Street car parks. Previously it was £1.70.

The council said the new charge would remain in place until at least April next year.

There will also be free parking in all council operated car parks for Thursday late night shopping.
