Phone taken in knife-point theft in Hartlepool

Police have appealed for witnesses after a woman had her phone stolen at knife-point in Hartlepool.

The 25-year-old had just finished taking a call while walking in an alleyway between Greenock Road and the Manor Care home on Monday evening.

She was approached by the offender whose face was partially covered, and who threatened her with a pen knife.

He took her pink Nokia mobile phone and made off towards Greenock Road, leaving her unhurt but very shaken.

Anyone who witnessed the theft at about 2015 GMT is asked to contact Cleveland Police.
