Traffic scheme in Hartlepool brings disruption

Motorists and public transport users in Hartlepool are being warned of disruption because of road safety work at a busy junction in the town.

A 12-week project costing £250,000 at the junction of Oxford Road and Catcote Road will see traffic lights installed to ease congestion.

The scheme will mean two bus stops on Oxford Road will be out of action from the start of the scheme on 24 January.

Cash from the government and Hartlepool Council is paying for the improvements.

The top of Oxford Road near the junction will be closed to traffic during the work, except for residential access, and a diversion will be in place along Kingsley Avenue and Tynebrooke Avenue.
