Men released in Hartlepool stab attack inquiry


Police have released without charge five men arrested over the stabbing of a man in Hartlepool.

The 38-year-old victim was found with multiple wounds at an address in St Bees Walk on Tuesday.

Cleveland Police said he remained in a critical condition in Middlesbrough's James Cook University Hospital.

A force spokeswoman said a 39-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempt murder remained in custody. Police have appealed for witnesses.
