Netherlands chef held over Rye child sex attack
A chef working in the Netherlands has been arrested over a sexual assault on a six-year-old girl in a UK restaurant.
The 37-year-old man was detained by Dutch police after being placed on Europol's most-wanted list.
He was arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting the girl while he was working as a chef at a restaurant in Rye on 21 August 2008.
The man had previously been arrested but failed to answer bail and was thought to have gone to Brazil.
A European Arrest Warrant, which allows the transfer of a suspect between EU member states, was used to hold the man who is now facing extradition to the UK.
