Historical sex abuse inquiry launched over closed East Sussex prep school

A police investigation has been launched into an allegation of child sex abuse at a defunct private school in East Sussex.

A former pupil at Boarzell School near Hurst Green said he was attacked by a member of teaching staff in the late 1960s when he was nine.

The investigation is at an early stage and no arrests have been made, Sussex Police said.

The school closed more than 40 years ago.

Detectives have appealed for pupils or staff who were at the school at the time to get in touch.

Det Con Michael Pearson said: "We would like to hear from anyone connected with the school during that period who may be able to help us build up a picture of what happened, especially if they still have access to any records or other material relating to the school then."
