Pensioner detained over Crawley Asda store sex assault

A man convicted of sexually assaulting a four-year-old girl while she was sitting in a shopping trolley has been detained under the Mental Health Act.

Hugh Unwin, 75, of Garden Walk, Crawley, West Sussex, assaulted her in the town's Asda store last September.

At an earlier hearing, he was convicted of sexually assaulting a female under 13 and of breaching the conditions of the sexual offenders register.

At Lewes Crown Court, the judge made a Section 37 Hospital Order.
