Allegations of electoral fraud in the 2015 General Election are being investigated by Sussex Police following complaints about the Conservative campaign.
The Liberal Democrats have complained the campaign in the Lewes constituency may have broken election rules.
A police spokesman confirmed an investigation has begun.
Conservative candidate Maria Caulfield beat the sitting Lib Dem MP Norman Baker in last year's election.
