Lancing nurse Ioan Galatanu not guilty of sex assaults

A nurse who was charged with sexually assaulting patients at a private hospital has been found not guilty.

Ioan Galatanu, 53, of South Street, Lancing, was accused of sexually assaulting two female patients at Goring Hall Hospital, in Worthing, West Sussex, in 2013.

A jury at Lewes Crown Court failed to reach a verdict and was discharged.

The prosecution offered no evidence at a hearing on Wednesday and Mr Galatanu was formally acquitted.

The hospital is run by BMI Healthcare.
