Murder charge over Chichester teen knife death

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a teenager who died after he was found with stab wounds.

Samuel Morgan, 19, is charged with murdering 18-year-old Luke Jeffrey, from Bognor Regis, and possessing a knife in a public place.

Mr Morgan, of Adelaide Road, Chichester, was remanded in custody by Crawley magistrates to appear at Lewes Crown Court on Tuesday.

A 20-year-old from Chichester, has been released without charge.

Mr Jeffrey was found with stab wounds in Alexandra Road, Chichester, on Friday night.

His family said he was studying at college to be a fitness instructor.

"Luke was a kind, caring and gentle young man," they said. "He was passionate about fitness and health and also had a lifelong love of music."
