Cyclist injured by wire across Brighton woods track

Wire strung across a path in woods in Brighton has left a cyclist with a broken collar bone.

The cyclist was injured near East Brighton Golf Club, as police were warning of of wires being strung across tracks in another part of the city.

Two different sets of wires were found and removed in Coldean Woods recently.

Cyclist Darren Gibson said there was no way he could have seen the wire before he rode into it.

"Sadly, even if you were going slowly you wouldn't have seen it," he said.

"You're talking about a thin wire, there's nothing else to see... that's the worrying thing."
