A campaign has been launched in Brighton to encourage more women to drive buses in the city.

Out of the 800 bus drivers, only 60 are currently women.

Brighton and Hove Buses said the industry had traditionally attracted more male drivers than females.

Managing director Martin Harris said: "This might sound like an issue from two or three decades ago... but women are still significantly under represented in our workforce."

An event is being held in Churchill Square, Brighton, on Saturday where women bus drivers will be speaking to shoppers to encourage them to apply for jobs.
