Woman killed after car crashes into fence in Crawley is named

A woman who died after the car she was in left the road and hit a fence in West Sussex, has been named by police.

Lisa Watling was travelling along Crawley Avenue, in Crawley, at 01:40 GMT on Sunday when the crash happened.

The 28-year-old, of Kestrel Close in the town, was a passenger in a black BMW Z3, along with the driver, a 35-year-old man.

Her family said it was "touching to see the positive effect Lisa has had on so many people's lives".

After the crash she was taken to St George's Hospital, in Tooting, London, with serious injuries but was pronounced dead.

The car's driver remains in a serious condition in hospital, though his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
