Bognor cyclist seriously injured in hit-and-run

A cyclist has been left with serious head and leg injuries after a hit-and-run crash in West Sussex.

The 45-year-old man was cycling on Shripney Road in Bognor Regis at 05.30 GMT when he was hit by a car, which did not stop, Sussex Police said.

A 30-year-old Bognor man was later arrested for causing serious injury by dangerous driving, the force added.

The injured cyclist was taken to hospital in Southampton. Any witnesses are asked to contact police.
