Arrest after boy suffers eye injury in Hove hit-and-run

A 24-year-old man has been arrested after a 16-year-old boy suffered a serious eye injury in a hit-and-run crash in Hove.

Glass went into the boy's eye when a Skoda Octavia and Vauxhall Insignia crashed at the junction of Church Road and Sackville Road on Christmas Day.

Sussex Police said he had recently undergone surgery in a bid to save the sight in his right eye.

The arrested man, from London, has been released on bail until February.

He was questioned by police after officers recovered a vehicle from an address in London.
