West Sussex youth worker jobs under threat

Dozens of youth worker jobs are under threat in West Sussex as part of plans to save £79m over the next three years.

The Conservative-run West Sussex County Council wants to reduce its budget by £1.65m a year from March 2014.

Some 50 full-time posts would be cut, affecting 119 members of staff. Opposition councillors called the plans "savage".

Councillors are due to vote on the plans, which would cut services by nearly a third, on Thursday.
