A 91-year-old woman suffered serious leg injuries when a car mounted a pavement and hit her.
Sussex Police said the woman was taken to Worthing Hospital for treatment after she was struck by a Ford Fiesta in Western Road, Sompting, West Sussex.
An 18-year-old woman from Lancing was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury through dangerous driving and bailed until 3 December.
Officers have appealed for witnesses to the crash on Saturday morning.
