A convicted murderer and burglar who walked out of an open prison in West Sussex has been arrested.

Police said Paul Flint was held on Friday afternoon in the Wellington Road area of Horsham after he was spotted by a member of the public.

Flint, 48, absconded from Ford Prison in Arundel on 1 July.

Sussex Police said they believed he may be linked to two burglaries in Hove, on 8 and 15 July, and one in Brighton, on 5 August.

In June 2012, he was on the run for six days from a Suffolk jail after failing to return from day release.
