Racist message 'found stuck to door of Horsham mosque'

A racist message stuck to the front door of a mosque in Sussex is being investigated as a hate crime by police.

The notice was found on the front of Madina Mosque in Park Terrace East, Horsham, at 07:00 GMT on Friday but was only reported to police on Monday.

It is believed the notice, which contained racist language, was placed on the mosque between 19:00 GMT on Thursday and the following morning.

Sussex Police said an investigation to identify those responsible was ongoing.

Ch Insp Howard Hodges, district commander of Horsham, said: "We are working closely with the local community, including users of the mosque, our partners and other residents in the town, to gather information and offer reassurance and support to those who may have been affected by this incident."
