Brighton Good Samaritan attacked by fake drunk

A robber who pretended to be unwell or drunk attacked a man who came to his aid then stole his phone.

The victim, 26, approached the man in Viaduct Road, Brighton, when he saw him collapsed in the road.

When he went to help him back to the pavement, the man grabbed him and a second man attacked him from behind, breaking one of his legs.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the assault, which took place on Tuesday at 03:00 GMT.

The man in the road is described as white, in his mid-20s, about 5ft 10in, of thin build and wearing a grey hooded top.

The second man was also white, in his 20s and had a skinhead haircut.

After stealing the victim's phone, both men ran off up Viaduct Road into Ditchling Road.
