Hove Thomas Cook staff tied up in armed robbery

An armed robber tied up staff at a travel agent's and threatened them with what police believe was a handgun.

The man entered a branch of Thomas Cook in Church Road, Hove, at about 16:50 GMT on Friday wearing a balaclava.

A female member of staff was assaulted and other staff tied up before the robber left with a substantial amount of cash and travel cards, police said.

The suspect was described as about 5ft 8in (1.73m) tall and wore a black puffa style jacket and grey hooded top.

No-one was injured in the robbery, and Sussex Police have asked anyone who witnessed the attack to contact them.
