Sussex driver held after pedestrian hurt in crash

A woman has been arrested after a male pedestrian was critically injured when he was hit by a car in Sussex.

Sussex Police said the 57-year-old man suffered serious injuries when he was struck by a Ford Fiesta in Crowborough Hill, Crowborough on Thursday.

He is being treated at Kings College Hospital, south-east London where his condition is said to critical.

A 52-year-old woman, also from Crowborough, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving.

She was released on bail until 7 February.

Sussex Police have appealed for the driver of a silver car that was seen in the area at the time to contact officers.
