Man dies in Brighton empty building fire

A man has died after a fire broke out at a property in Brighton believed to have been used by squatters.

Fire crews were called to the empty building in Upper Bedford Street, Kemp Town, at about 03:50 GMT.

Sussex Police said the victim was brought out of the property but pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are working with the fire service to establish the cause of the blaze. A 48-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of arson.
