Parents approve of Crowborough schools merger

Two schools have come a step closer to merging in East Sussex after a consultation showed the majority of parents support the plan.

Whitehill Infant School and Herne Junior School, in Crowborough, started sharing a head teacher and governing body in 2009.

The plan to formally merge the schools was approved by 93% of the 107 replies.

A decision will be made in March, with a merger taking place next September, if agreed.

If it gets the go-ahead the school would continue to operate from two sites.
