Two people injured in Worthing house fire

Two people were injured when a fire severely damaged a house in Worthing, West Sussex.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called to the two-storey terraced property in Meredith Road at about 10.55 BST on Saturday.

Firefighters using breathing apparatus spent 90 minutes tackling the fire, which badly damaged two floors.

A spokeswoman for the fire service said one person suffered minor burns and another was treated for shock.

The cause of the blaze is currently being investigated.
