Two arrested over Brighton massage parlour raid

Two men have been arrested and weapons have been seized after an armed robbery at a Brighton massage parlour.

Brighton Belles massage parlour in Montpelier Road was raided at about 03:30 BST, Sussex Police said.

Officers said staff were threatened with what appeared to be a handgun and a knife and several hundred pounds of cash was taken.

The two suspects were later detained, one in Western Road and the other in North Road, the force said.

Seven staff members and two customers were at the parlour at the time of the raid.

'Terrifying ordeal'

Det Insp Miles Ockwell said firearms officers were deployed to the area, with a suspected firearm seized in Western Road.

He said it had not yet been established whether the gun was real or imitation.

Two knives were seized after armed officers stopped the second suspect in North Road.

Those officers also recovered cash which was believed to be the proceeds of the robbery, Det Insp Ockwell said.

He said the people at the parlour experienced a "terrifying ordeal", with one man and six women sustaining minor injuries.

Two suspects are currently being held in custody and police have urged witnesses or those with information to contact them.
