Lansdowne Hotel in Eastbourne evacuated after fire

A seafront hotel in East Sussex has been evacuated after a fire broke out in the ground-floor kitchen.

About 20 firefighters were called to the Lansdowne Hotel on King Edward's Parade, Eastbourne, at 13:15 GMT.

One person was treated by paramedics at the scene as a precautionary measure. The fire was extinguished and the incident was scaled down an hour later.

Crews from Eastbourne, Pevensey and Hailsham attended the fire, the cause of which is under investigation.
