Hastings bakery break-in: Fake cakes taken

A Sussex man has been charged in connection with a burglary at a bakery in Hastings in which three cakes were stolen.

However, the cakes were for display purposes only and were made from polystyrene and decorated with icing.

A man was allegedly seen breaking into Earls Bakery, in West Hill Road, St Leonards, at about 0100 BST on 30 June.

A man is due to appear before Hastings Magistrates' Court on 13 July.
