Robbers in Hove hit man on head with bat

A 32-year-old man was taken to hospital with head injuries after being hit on the head with a metal bat in a robbery at his home in Hove.

Sussex Police said the man answered a knock on the door of his flat in Clarendon Road just before midnight on Thursday to be confronted by two men.

They pushed their way in to his home and stole about £600 cash after attacking him.

The victim was admitted to the Royal Sussex County Hospital overnight.

One of the robbers is described as black, in his mid-20s, of medium build and 5ft 3in tall. He was bald and wearing a black jacket with dark jeans and trainers.

The second man is described as wearing all dark clothing, with his face covered with a dark scarf. He was slightly taller than his accomplice.

Police have appealed to anyone who was in the Clarendon Road area late on Thursday evening who saw the two men to come forward.
