Woman found fatally injured on Hastings railway named

A woman who died in hospital after being found seriously injured on a railway line in East Sussex has been identified.

Michelle Hudson, 25, of Holmesdale Gardens, Hastings, was discovered near the railway bridge at Linton Road, just before 0400 GMT on Sunday.

She was taken to the Conquest Hospital with head injuries, but died on Monday.

A 21-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been bailed until 24 March.

Sussex Police said the man and woman were known to each other.

A force spokesman said Ms Hudson's death was being treated as suspicious.
