An 18-year-old woman has been charged with causing death by careless driving after a crash in which a teenager died.

Kirsty Hicks, 16, of Stane Street, Slinfold, West Sussex, died six days after the crash in Wisborough Green on 7 August 2010.

She was one of three passengers in a car which collided with a lorry.

Sussex Police said Laura Stocker, of Cherry Tree Close, Billingshurst, had been bailed to appear at Chichester Magistrates' Court on 21 January.

Two other passengers in the car - an 18-year-old man and 16-year-old boy - were also injured.

Officers said the boy was still being treated in hospital for a head injury.

The 71-year-old lorry driver was unhurt.
