West Sussex motorcycle crash victim is named

A West Sussex motorcyclist who died after a crash with a lorry in sub-zero conditions has been named by police.

Philip Coleman, 52, of Worthing, died when his bike collided with the HGV on the A264 and A23 link road in Crawley just after 0500 GMT on Wednesday.

Police have said it is too early to say whether the freezing and snowy weather conditions played a part in the crash.

The lorry driver, a 58-year-old man from Kent, suffered shock but was otherwise unhurt.

The road was closed by officers but the westbound carriageway reopened to traffic around two hours later.
