Driver dies at scene of M23 crash near Crawley

A man in his 60s has died in a crash on the M23 after his car went out of control and hit the central reservation and then another vehicle, police said.

Emergency teams were called to the crash on the northbound M23 near Crawley at about 1730 GMT on Friday.

The northbound carriageway was closed for more than seven hours, and the southbound carriageway was also closed briefly for debris to be cleared.

The man who died was from London but has not yet been named.
