West Sussex cyclist assault suspect is arrested

A second man has been arrested by police investigating an assault on a cyclist in West Sussex.

The 43-year-old man suffered head and facial injuries after being hit and kicked by a group of men in Stockbridge, Chichester at about 1700 GMT on 30 October.

The men left the scene in a silver VW Golf, which has been seized by police.

An 18-year-old man from Pulborough was arrested on the same day on suspicion of assault.

Police still want to identity three other suspects. All are described as white men.

One is described as 18, 5ft 9in and slim with close cropped ginger hair. The two others are said to be 5ft 10in and thin with short dark hair.

Sussex Police also want to trace a man who stopped his dark-coloured people carrier on Stockbridge Road and got out to help. He was white, with a goatee beard and was wearing an Everton top.

Both arrested man have been bailed until 12 January 2011.
