Taxi driver attacked and robbed in St Leonards

A taxi driver has been attacked and robbed by two men carrying kitchen knives in East Sussex.

The suspects got into his vehicle just before midnight on Thursday in Kenilworth Road, St Leonards.

Police said the man was threatened, held down and punched in the face before £250 cash was stolen.

He was not seriously injured and did not need hospital treatment. The men ran off in the direction of Pevensey Road following the robbery.

Both suspects were described as white, aged about 23 years old, of slim build and wearing dark clothing.

One was 5ft 9in (1.75m) tall, and was wearing a black long sleeved jacket, black jogging bottoms and a black baseball cap. His head was fully covered.

The second man was about 5ft 6in (1.67m) tall, with a large chin which had some spots on it. He was also wearing all black clothing and a black baseball cap.
