Pedestrian hit by car on Caterham bypass A22 dies

A pedestrian died when he was hit by a car in Surrey.

Surrey Police said the man, who was in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on the A22 Caterham bypass.

He has not yet been identified but his family have been informed, officers said.

The driver, a woman in her 20s, had minor injuries after the collision on Saturday night. Two passengers in the Mercedes A-Class were unhurt.

Police said the incident happened on the northbound carriageway near the Wapses Lodge roundabout at about 23:00 GMT.
